KOZHIKODE: A City for Every Age

Kozhikode also known in English as Calicut, is a city along the Malabar Coast in the State of Kerala in India. Kozhikode Corporation established under Government of Kerala in 1962. It has a Corporation limit population of 6, 09,224 and a Metropolitan population of more than 2 million, making it the Second most populous metropolitan area in Kerala and the 19th largest in India. Kozhikode is also classified as a Tier II city by the Government of India. In accordance with the last Census of population and housing, 2011, in Kozhikode live 1, 05,505 people over the age of 60, accounting for 17.32 percent of all seniors who reside in the metropolitan area as a whole.
